ive been messing with this software for awhile now, i finally figured out how to get a new recipe going from scratch and adding food items, but im having a hard time figuring out how to add in supplements like krill oil, seaweed calcium, vitamin E, zinc liver chelate, Thiamine B1.
i found bone meal but not seaweed calcium
i found fish oil, but not krill oil

does the software have particular brands like, vitamin essentials seaweed calcium ?

any help appreciated!

Hi,

All of your values are correct. You could always add the linoleic acid (or other fatty acids) later. You can ignore the nutrients circled in red.

Im still waiting to hear back from the company about their "omega 6"
but in the meantime, can you tell me if I'm at least doing this data entry right so far?
i dont know where the 3 red items circled go tho...

I just wanted to get as much info entered as i can for now until they hopefully respond about what exactly the 20mg of "omega 6" really are

this was their response the second time "We are more than happy to help with your inquiry regarding the Omega-6 content in our Krill Oil. The omega-6 is naturally occurring within the Krill Oil itself"

I just emailed them to try one more time and i specifically asked if they mean linoleic acid? or some other fatty acid?

Hi,

You might want to ask him exactly what he means by omega-6 fatty acids? What fatty acid(s) is he referring to? His product label reads Omega-6 Fatty Acids - 20mg. That is very vague. Does he mean linoleic acid? or some other fatty acid?

i cant believe mercola emailed me back already about the krill oil!
"We are very happy to hear that there is an interest in our Krill Oil. Each serving of our Krill Oil is 2 capsules which makes up 1000mg of product. Each capsule will have 500mg of Krill Oil. If there are any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us."

if you had time to at least enter the seaweed calcium for now, it weighs 4 gram per teaspoon

Hi ketopoweredK9,

Excellent. I forgot to mention that. I have a .001 gram scale that I use for supplements, and it works well.

From our experience contacting manufacturers, it usually takes one week. But many of them never answered our queries.

I have a microgram scale, ill have to get these measurements back to you later.
ill weigh the krill oil capsule full, drain oil, reweigh casing, subtract difference. hopefully thats close enough? I cant imagine ill get a response from a big company like mercola if i ask them for the exact weights via email etc :-) but ill try that too.

thanks again! im eager to see where your software comes in analyzing this plan i had made for my dog so i can compare the two results

Hi ketopoweredK9,

Krill Oil... contact manufacturer and find out exactly how much each capsule weighs (in grams) with and without the capsule covering. You cannot enter the nutrient data without this value.

Seaweed calcium... how much (in grams) is each teaspoon (serving size)?

Zinc Liver Chelate.... how much (in grams) does each tablet weigh?

Vitamin B-1 (Thiamin) 100 mg Tablets...... how much (in grams) does each tablet weigh?

Only hempseed has the correct weight data per serving size, so I will create a small tutorial for you later this weekend. All of the other supplements you will have to contact the manufacturer to get the correct gram weight per serving. We cannot enter the nutrient data into the database without this important metric.

Regards,

krill oil: the data is given for 2 capsules, i use 1 per day in my daily fed meals, so I'd need data available for 1capsule
https://krilloil.mercola.com/krill-oil.html

seaweed calcium : data is given per teaspoon, according to my scale 1 teaspoon weighs 4grams
http://animalessentials.com/seaweed-calcium/

zinc liver chelate:

vitman b1

Hi ketopoweredK9,

I can definitely help you with adding some of the foods/supplements you want to use. Please send me a link to the product. It is a holiday weekend here so I don't have too much time to devote to it this weekend.
