I recently received the pet diet download. Does the version I received calculate safe upper limits for me? I had read that biotin, iodine and taurine are not included and to calculate them separate from the pet diet designer program - but I saw taurine when looking at instructions. Is the taurine included? With low taurine , cats develop cardiomyopathy. What source could I use to know the amount my cats would need of these three ingredients if not included on the pet diet designer? Are any other nutrients not included that would make the recipe generated to be unbalanced. Cat food cans say -"formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance." Will the recipes created on your program also meet the AAFCO requirements for dogs or cats? - I was told to use the adult dog instructions for my cat, do I make any adjustments for a cat? Thank you.

Please see the following document for safe upper limits for cats:

Please add a supplement for taurine and for biotin and iodine. Kelp powder is a good choice for iodine.

AAFCO is a commercial standard based off of NRC. We formulate to the gold standard for pet nutrition - NRC.
