More complete and better balanced than commercial pet food.
Create homemade diets for your pets that are more complete and better balanced than any commercial pet food. Pet Diet Designer tracks more nutrients than commercial pet food and balances critical fatty acids that the commercial pet food industry has failed to include in their product offerings. With Pet Diet Designer you can create meals and snacks that are precisely optimized for only your pet. We call this "personalized" nutrition. It's like having your own animal nutritionist!
Quickly see if your recipe meets your pet's nutrient requirements.
Nutrient summary graphs let you quickly see if you have reached your pet's nutrient requirements for a recipe or for more meals spread throughout the day (or even a week). You can even include snacks and treats, if desired.
Nutrient summaries are expressed as a percentage and are color coded.
- A green bar means that the requirement has been met.
- A yellow bar means you are short of the nutrient, while a
- Red bar means that you have surpassed the safe upper limit for that nutrient.
You can easily adjust ingredient amounts and select (or deselect) ingredients to instantly see if your recipe meets the minimum or recommended nutrient levels for your pet. Each pet has different requirements so you can imagine the time you will save by using Pet Diet Designer to create meals precisely optimized for your cat or dog.
Balance key nutrients with ease, including important fatty acid ratios.
Pet Diet Designer dynamically calculates all the important nutrient ratios for you and shows you graphically if you are within the recommended range when you are formulating diets for your cat or dog. So creating balanced meals is now easy.
Nutrient ratios are extremely important for your pet's health. A diet that is complete means that it contains all the essential nutrients for your dog or cat. However, a complete diet does not necessarily make it balanced or healthy.
For instance, too much calcium can interfere with the absorption of zinc and possibly lead to zinc responsive dermatosis. Calcium also interferes with magnesium and manganese absorption.
Perhaps the most important, and well known, ratio is the Calcium-Phosphorus ratio. This ratio is particularly important during the growth stage (esp. for large breed puppies). Imbalances in this ratio can lead to disease conditions such as osteochondrosis, hip dysplasia, hypertrophic osteodystrophy and other skeletal defects.
DETAILED NUTRIENT GRAPHS
Detailed pet nutrient requirements and total ingredient nutrient levels.
View detailed information on all nutrients that your pet needs for the current recipe. Nutrient levels for each ingredient are summed and displayed graphically as bar graphs.
Your pet's precise daily nutrient requirements are overlayed as line graphs so you can instantly see if the nutrient levels of your recipe are correct for your pet.
The graphs are divided into
As you adjust the quantity of each ingredient, the graphs will update in real time.
Placing your mouse cursor over each bar graph displays a popup info panel with the precise nutrient level of the recipe and the exact minimum and recommended nutrient requirement for your pet.
AD-HOC RECIPE DESIGN
Instantly view changes in nutrient profiles.
Pet Diet Designer makes it so easy to view your pet's precise nutrient requirements against a recipe's total nutrient levels. Instantly see changes in a recipe's nutrient levels when selecting or deselecting ingredients or making changes to ingredient amounts. Painless ad-hoc recipe design.
Do all of your work here. Just add ingredients and change amounts.
Chances are your recipe contains more than one ingredient. This is where the ingredient list shines! Quickly add ingredients to the ingredient list. Change the food quantity and instantly get results. Most ingredients have common measures so you can choose whether to use grams or cups or teaspoons, etc. When adding a food to the recipe database you can also input your own common measures.

RECORD DETAILED PET INFO
Record all information about your pet, including physiological, medical and laboratory data (coming soon).
Recording physiological, environmental and lifestage data is critical to designing complete and balanced meals for a pet. A handy pet info panel lets you know if you require any additional info on your pet so that you can create and balance recipes for that pet.
Integrated and easy-to-use weight management.
An estimated one-third of our pets are overweight or obese. Overweight dogs and cats are more susceptible to certain disease conditions. Too much food and not enough exercise is the primary cause of obesity in our pets.
Pet Diet Designer for Windows includes a sophisticated weight management module that will help you feed your dog or cat to reduce their weight. You just enter 3 values: 1) the start date, 2) your pet's current weight, and 3) the desired weight for your pet. Everything gets automatically calculated and graphed for you, including the daily calories to feed your pet and the duration of the weight loss program.
When you balance a recipe (or create one) for a pet that is on a weight loss program, the calculated caloric daily intake generated by the weight loss program is used instead of the normal caloric intake (based on physiology, lifestage, etc.). This makes it easy to ensure your pet stays on track for the duration of the program.
