Hi Sandy,

Can you please tell me what operating system you were upgrading from?

Bonjour Rene,
I was not upgrading, it just did a regular update -- it's always been Windows 10.
I tried repairing, reinstalling, renaming, compatibility mode... I got frustrated and did a system restore to before the Windows updates and PDD is working again. BUT, I have to reboot and update at some point, so I still need to figure out what is preventing the program from starting after the latest Windows 10 update.
Merci,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,

I believe I know what the problem is. It sounds like one of the Microsoft updates corrupted your user.config file. I will investigate further and outline how to find and delete the file if this happens again when updating. Once deleted, PDD will restart and create a new file.

Regards,

Rene

Hi,
I did a search for that file name, but the only config file that it found in relation to PDD was PPD03.Win.exe.config. Would that be the one?
Thanks!

Hi Sandy,

Search for this file:

C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Pet_Diet_Designer,_Inc.\PDD03.Win.exe_Url_xvyljk4223l4nzvz0bulz20uoiiqnims\0.88.3.0\user.config

Replace <your user name> with the username you use on your computer.

Let me know if this works for you.

HI Rene,
The xvyljk4223l4nzvz0bulz20uoiiqnims is different, but I found the file. If PDD won't load when Windows updates, I will try deleting this file.
Merci!

I just wanted to let you know that I too did some updates and had the same problem with PDD not opening. I followed this instructions, deleted the file, and I'm back in business. Thanks so much.

Hi mcsommer@mac.com,

Can you please uninstall PDD and then re-install? All of your pets and recipes will remain. Let me know if this works for you.
