Hi, I'm trying to formulate a diet for my dog. He is a rescue and is underweight. Does PDD take into account the current weight compared to the adult weight and realise the animal needs to eat more? Or do i manually have to take into account that the calories need to be increase?
When you place your dog on a weight management program, the program will calculate the amount of calories and the time needed to achieve the desired weight. When you create a recipe the new caloric amount for weight loss will be used automatically.
Please read Step 3c - Assess your adult dog's body condition score (BCS) under the heading "Guidance" on the following page:

Pay particular attention to "Case 1: your dog has a BCS of 3 (thin)", which gives you an example of an underweight dog, based on body score, and gives you guidance on how to correct.
